Partnership with Oceans Without Borders

marinecultures.org (MC) is proud to announce a new partnership with Oceans Without Borders (OWB), a non-profit organization dedicated to community-led development and conservation of Africa’s natural environments. OWB is connected with &Beyond – a luxury travel company with its roots in conservation, and Africa Foundation.
The partnership aims at enabling OWB to restore damaged reefs of Mnemba island. MC ensures with its experience the development of the new program on Mnemba Island in Zanzibar is state of the art and the output is efficient. The main focus is to achieve a good species and genotype mix to secure the future sexual reproduction of transplanted corals.
In September MC has trained OWB’s young team of coral conservation rangers.. The next step will be the setup of coral farming infrastructure on Mnemba and to help the OWB team to get started with coral farming. We are very happy to be part of OWB’s coral reforestation initiative on Mnemba.
