marinecultures.org has become member of the World Aquaculture Society. As is the case with our already existing memberships with WIOMSA (West Indian Ocean Marine Science Association), EAS (European Aquaculture Society) and SARNISSA (Sustainable Aquaculture Research Networks of Sub-Saharan Africa), this new membership helps our research.

WIOMSA: The Western Indian Ocean Marine Science Association promotes the educational, scientific and technological development of all aspects of marine sciences throughout the Western Indian Ocean region with a view toward sustaining the use and conservation of its marine resources.

EAS: The European Aquaculture Society brings together all those interested in the sustainable development of European aquaculture - to develop contacts, share and disseminate information and promote multi-disciplinary research.

SARNISSA: SARNISSA is the one-stop destination for those who are interested in how catfish is currently being cultivated in Nigeria, who’s developing tilapia feed in South Africa or who’s cultivating sponges in Zanzibar.
The EC funded Sustainable Aquaculture Research Networks for Sub Saharan Africa (SARNISSA) project aims to link likeminded individuals throughout Sub Saharan Africa and beyond for their mutual benefit.

WAS: The World Aquaculture Society is an international non-profit organization with over 3,000 members in about 100 countries. Founded in 1969, the primary focus of WAS is to strengthen and facilitate communication and information exchange on high priority topics and emerging issues within the diverse global aquaculture community.
